Seed Saving Workshop
Bridport’s Very First Seed Saving Workshop
26th of September
Six months since opening, BFM collaborator, the Bridport Seed Library, has given away over 1,500 free seed packets covering almost 100 varieties — mostly edibles. What a start!
The seed crop is in full swing — drying, winnowing, fermenting tomato seeds — and a packing party in mid-August will bring a refreshed and expanded collection. There are already plenty of autumn and winter salad seeds available, including mizuna, rocket, lettuce, land cress and herbs like coriander, dill and parsley.
And if you've taken seeds from the library, do consider returning some from your own plants — just get in touch if you're unsure how.
Want to learn to save your own seed? Join us for Bridport's very first Seed Saving Workshop on Saturday 26th September, 10.30–12.30 at Bridport Youth and Community Centre.
Hands-on and practical, covering beans, peas, tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, courgettes and more. Hot drinks, cake, and seeds to take home! Tickets are just £5, with all proceeds supporting the Seed Library.
Places are already filling up — email bridportseedlibrary@gmail.com to book yours.
Happy growing!
