With increasing pressures on our health and budgets, it is important to boost our health through nutritious food, and to explore ways to cook and eat well on low incomes. This section highlights practical ways to prepare healthy, affordable meals, offering recipes, shared cooking resources, and guidance to help people eat well on a budget. A range of local and regional programmes, workshops, and organisations also support cooking skills, food education, and community wellbeing for people of all ages.

Community Cooking Kit
This Bridport Local Food Group resource can be borrowed by other community groups large or small. It has equipment and crockery/ cutlery sufficient to cater for up to 30 people. It is housed at The Community Food Stall, St. Swithuns church. On loan for FREE. Contact Peter 07778 159826

The Friendly Food Club
Since 2007 LFL has been making freshly prepared, healthy school meals and supporting local businesses. They have 3 hub kitchens supplying more than 60 schools across Dorset and East Devon, including several in Bridport. LFL is not-for-profit and is a community-owned social enterprise. Vision is to support the young people in Beaminster & surrounding areas with our services & activities, while providing a community hub for the whole town. Activities include Café Create Thursday morning 10am - 12.00, term time; and cooking together sessions.
