The Bridport Local Food Group is extremely pleased to announce that the Bridport Food Festival will be happening this year despite the format having to change to allow for managing social distancing rules.   The usual week-long event will be extended.  It will run from Sunday 13 – Friday 25 June.

The first week will be dedicated to promoting the Town’s hospitality, and food and drink businesses with special menus, open days, etc.   The second week will be focused on children – an afternoon of cooking and related activities is being offered to local schools.

Instead of the week culminating at Asker Meadows, when the Bridport Food Group join up with the Bridport Round Table for the Food & Beer Festival, there will be a FREE open-air Food & Drink market held on Saturday 19 June on the Millennium Green.  The Festival Food & Drink Market will run from 9am – 5pm. 30+  stallholders producing local food and drink will have the opportunity to showcase and sell their produce.   The Round Table will be operating a Beer Gazebo and the Bridport Local Food Group will be running their popular Festival Tea Room.   There will be a large picnic area and music to entertain.

“The Food festival is an important date for the Town.   Not only does it give residents and the community the chance to try and buy fantastic local food and drink, it supports our local food and drink businesses and also provides them with the opportunity to showcase their high quality, artisan produce to existing and new customers.   We all know how drastic this last year has been for the hospitality and food industry –   it is so important that we give them a platform for interacting, promoting and selling what they do..” said Kathy Dare, Chair, Bridport Local Food Group.
